  • For a pub meal, this place is fantastic!

Another local hotspot we were told was a must, was the Farmers Arms. We went expecting high quality pub food, and it didn’t disappoint. The decor is funky and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly - though we found this to be the case everywhere we went in this town. We were really hungry, so we ordered an entree and a main, which was a mistake, as the servings were so generous, we struggled to get through the mains. The menu is really diverse and there is something to cater for the most discerning tastebuds. I would have expected this type of food in a fancy restaurant, so it was great to have such choice in a pub.

  • Highly recommended

We visited Daylesford for a couple of days; there are a lot of restaurants to choose from in the town. A work colleague of our daughter recommended the Farmers Arms and we are pleased we took his advice. There is an excellent range of beers and of wines by the glass. The menu is short but eclectic - we chose the pie of the day (peppered steak) which came with chips and salad. The portions were generous (to say the least). We shared a dessert, which was also good, and enjoyed a glass of late harvest Viognier with it.

  • Great local pub

Heard good things about the Framers Arms so went for dinner and found the food lives up to it's reputation. Select your table and order your drinks and food from the bar. There are 2 large chalk boards either side of the bar that is the menu. We shared the Pork Terrine which came with chutney, cornichons, and crisp breads - very good. Then it was the Venison Ragu for my partner, while I had the pie of the day, Beef Bourguignon, which came with a bowl of chips and a small salad. Both were large portions! My pie was excellent, tender chunks of meat and vegetables in a concentrated sauce. Good selection of beers and wine, though the wines are not inexpensive. Recommended.

  • A touch of England

Tend to stay away from Daylesford as it gets so busy but I had visitors from the UK so took them for a visit. They liked the look of the Farmers Arms it reminded them of pubs in northern UK villages. They were thrilled with the place the menu excited them and the pot pie was a hit. All the meals were generous and very nice. I ordered 2 starters and could have gone with one. I am going to meet friends there for lunch very soon. We were there on a Wednesday so not so busy but I would imagine it gets busy on the weekends.
